The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as "food stamps," is a federal program designed to help low-income families access nutritious food. In Florida, this program is managed by the Department of Children and Families.

Instead of receiving cash, SNAP benefits are loaded onto an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which works like a debit card that can be used at approved stores.
